#29 fixed this too for me. #18 didn't help. This seems to be happening in that specific file selector - both for opening files (uploads), but also for saving files (downloads).
I also am running NVIDIA + Proprietary drivers (580.95.05). Ubuntu 24.04 I do now see a different file selector (as expected) - and its fast.
