While I am not using Ubuntu, I have the same device and the hint by @dtl131 brought the solution for me — the patch he linked seems to be only for the 0CCC SKU, while the Area 51 18 seems to be the 0CCD SKU.
Using the following quirk: options snd_soc_sof_sdw quirk=0x8000 fixes things for me (that's a bitmask setting bit 15 as can be found by checking the code). You can put that in a modprobe conf file or to just try it temporarily do: modprobe -r snd_soc_sof_sdw modprobe snd_soc_sof_sdw quirk=0x8000 For an upstream (and hence, out of the box) fix, this should of course be added to the kernel list of quirks. I can look into proposing this (in case nobody else does), it will take me a while as I have just got the device and still have to set up everything else. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2131689 Title: No internal audio on Dell Alienware 18 (Intel Arrow Lake, 8086:7f50, 1028:0ccd) – only NVIDIA HDMI detected on Ubuntu 24.04 (6.14.0-1015-oem) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-oem-6.14/+bug/2131689/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
