Public bug reported:
I recently did the LTS upgrade from Xubuntu 22.04 to Xubuntu 24.04
I got to making my printer-driver-cups-pdf PDF Printer driver work the
way I want it to.
I have configured (always, each version of Ubuntu) to name files
according to the Label 1 configuration:
## 1: label all documents with a preceeding "job_#-"
Instead a new test PDF Print created a PDF filename according to Label 2
configuration:
## 2: label all documents with a tailing "-job_#"
Test PDF filename generated by Xubuntu 24.04 has the unique job number
trailing in the resulting filename.
I prefer to make two adjustments to the .conf file of this program, as
follows:
### Key: Label (config, ppd, lpoptions)
## label all jobs with a unique job-id in order to avoid overwriting old
## files in case new ones with identical names are created; always true for
## untitled documents
## 0: label untitled documents only
## 1: label all documents with a preceeding "job_#-"
## 2: label all documents with a tailing "-job_#"
### Default: 0
#Label 0
Label 1
### Key: TitlePref (config, ppd, lpoptions)
## where to look first for a title when creating the output filename
## (title in PS file or title on commandline):
## 0: prefer title from %Title statement in the PS file
## 1: prefer title passed via commandline
### Default: 0
#TitlePref 0
TitlePref 1
The TitlePref appears to be working as expected, just the Label is impacted by
the LTS upgrade to 24.04.
Adjusting the Label to a value of 2 produces the exact same PDF
filename.
It appears that in the 24.04 version, either value 1 or 2 result in the
behavior of value 2.
Please heal the documented behavior of Label 1
** Affects: cups-pdf (Ubuntu)
