Hello, Thanks for taking care of this issue. I will reply to your requests and also add some updated information.
1. Files have been attached. 2. Folder is empty. 3. This is the only relevant link since the previous ones relate to dates before I had the HDMI issue. https://errors.ubuntu.com/oops/ea596488-dff9-11f0-ab4d-fa163ec8ca8c Have I already attached any .crash files? If so please delete LOL When I had the HDMI issue for the first time I started looking for solutions online which resulted in uninstallation and installation of the nVidia drivers using different methods (driver download from nVidia website, using Additional Drivers in Ubuntu, using the Terminal, etc, but nothing unofficial or sketchy). If I recall correctly, as all my attempts failed to make the HMDI work, I think I ended up using "purge" and then "autoupdate" from the the terminal, but I might be wrong. Either way, before having the issue I hadn't been messing with drivers or anything, so the first driver that failed was the one that Ubuntu installed during the OS installation process the very first time and that Ubuntu consequently updated automatically overtime. UPDATE: The HDMI port WORKS when connected to a different TV. This time it's a high refresh rate (120hz I reckon) 1080p Samsung LCD TV. The one that failed is a 4K, OLED, high refresh rate (144hz I reckon), LG TV. I don't have access to this TV anymore. Could it be a cable compatibility problem? Either way, it shouldn't crash I guess. ** Attachment added: "journal.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2136963/+attachment/5937448/+files/journal.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2136963 Title: Ubuntu crashes and logs out after connecting an HDMI cable To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/2136963/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
