Public bug reported:

After running a normal system update using:

sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade -y

Google Chrome started appearing twice in the GNOME App Grid.

Chrome is installed only once (google-chrome-stable deb package).
There are no duplicate .desktop files in /usr/share/applications.
No snap version of Chrome or Chromium is installed.

This appears to be a GNOME Shell app-grid / app-picker indexing issue
after updates.
