This issue is not considered solved after multiple steps on multiple fronts to address the problem:
(1) Snapd team (Andrew Phelps) created API to allow pre-seeding: - https://github.com/canonical/snapd/pull/16395 - https://github.com/canonical/snapd/pull/16403 (2) Installer team (Olivier Gayot) implemented API to enable preseeding on the installer side. - https://github.com/canonical/subiquity/pull/2288 (3) Desktop team (Sergio Costas): - Established that font-cache does not work via the content interface (the data is not shared) and there is not quick fix for that (needs in depth investigation). - Discovered hard-coded delay of 2 seconds inside fc-cache which he removed and verified does not breakages: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/fontconfig/fontconfig/-/merge_requests/494 - Prepared two patches for SDKs: - https://github.com/ubuntu/gnome-sdk/pull/334 - https://github.com/ubuntu/gnome-sdk/pull/335 Together this reduced the seeding time to be acceptable. Considering this issue solved. ** Changed in: snapd Status: New => Fix Committed ** Changed in: snapd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2116949 Title: Since snapd 2.68, initial seeding time increased To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/gnome-platform-snap/+bug/2116949/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
