This is expected behaviour in 0.4.17-1ubuntu4 at least. Auto-switching is hard-coded to a select few applications,
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/wireplumber/-/blob/0.4/src/config/policy.lua.d/10-default- policy.lua?ref_type=heads#L37 Otherwise it depends on the stream being tagged with a media role that is allowed to auto-switch, tools like gst-play and pw-record don't have such a role. Allowing anything that touches the mic to auto-switch to HSP/HFP could otherwise degrade the desktop experience. I'll mark the Wireplumber side of this as invalid. ** Changed in: wireplumber (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2083798 Title: bluetooth headsets do not switch to handsfree profile automatically To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/2083798/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
