Public bug reported: I am running 22.04 (latest) and 24.04 (latest).
Trying to mount as a client on both machines using NFS and kerberos (krb5p) with the same /etc/krb5.conf file. I am able to successfully set up Kerberos on both machines however when I try to mount using: mount -t nfs4 -o retrans=15,max_connect=16,sec=krb5p vm-001-4269.maas.eng.exagrid.com:/hub /mnt/hub I receive the following error on Ubuntu 24.04: mount.nfs4: access denied by server while mounting vm-001-4269.maas.eng.exagrid.com:/hub This works fine on Ubuntu 22.04 I am uploading the journal with rpc-verbosity=3 set in /etc/nfs.conf ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 24.04 Package: nfs-common 1:2.6.4-3ubuntu5.1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 6.8.0-90.91-generic 6.8.12 Uname: Linux 6.8.0-90-generic x86_64 .etc.request-key.d.id_resolver.conf: create id_resolver * * /usr/sbin/nfsidmap -t 600 %k %d ApportVersion: 2.28.1-0ubuntu3.8 Architecture: amd64 CasperMD5CheckResult: unknown CloudArchitecture: x86_64 CloudBuildName: server CloudID: maas CloudName: maas CloudPlatform: maas CloudSerial: 20260118 CloudSubPlatform: seed-dir (http://172.23.4.4:5248/MAAS/metadata/) Date: Fri Jan 23 17:46:06 2026 NFSMounts: NFSv4Mounts: ProcEnviron: LANG=C.UTF-8 PATH=(custom, no user) SHELL=/bin/bash TERM=screen-256color XDG_RUNTIME_DIR=<set> SourcePackage: nfs-utils UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to noble on 2026-01-21 (2 days ago) ** Affects: nfs-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug cloud-image noble ** Attachment added: "rpc.gssd.journal.log" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2138954/+attachment/5940449/+files/rpc.gssd.journal.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2138954 Title: Mounting with NFS over kerberos (krb5p) does not work To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/2138954/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
