Thanks for reporting this issue! We've been able to reproduce this error
in Zorin OS 18 and Ubuntu (24.04 & 25.10), but have since resolved it in
the latest software updates in Zorin OS 18.

After some testing and research, we were able to narrow-down the source of this
issue to a coding error in the upstream malcontent package (which provides the
Parental Controls feature) from the Ubuntu repositories and its interaction
with some Snap packages.
Parental Controls (malcontent) doesn't come pre-installed in Ubuntu, so it
isn't affected by this issue by default. However, if you install it in Ubuntu
(sudo apt install malcontent malcontent-gui) and try to install OpenStickies
2.7.1 (from its Beta channel in the Snap store), the same error occurs.

Earlier today we published an update to the malcontent package in the Zorin OS
repositories to include a minor patch which resolves this issue. That means you
can install the latest updates from the Software Updater in Zorin OS 18 now and
restart your system to apply this fix.
However, the Ubuntu developers would need to apply this patch (see next
comment) to their malcontent package to resolve the issue upstream.

We've tested installing OpenStickies 2.7.1 both before and after
updating to this patched version of the malcontent package, and we can
confirm that the latest version resolves this issue.

If you've already installed OpenStickies 2.7.1 on a Zorin OS 18-powered
computer without this patched and are affected by the "Oh no! Something has
gone wrong" error, you can repair your system by following these steps:
1. While running Zorin OS, press Ctrl+Alt+F3.
2. Enter your username and password to log into a text prompt.
3. Enter the following command to install the latest software updates: sudo apt
update && sudo apt dist-upgrade
4. After the updates have been installed, enter this command to restart your
computer: sudo reboot
You should now be able to log into Zorin OS normally again. However, your
desktop layout might have been reset to the GNOME Shell look (with a thin panel
at the top of the screen). To switch back to the default Zorin OS layout (with
the taskbar at the bottom of the screen), press the Windows/Logo key, search &
open "Zorin Appearance", and click one of the options in the "Layout" section.
