Tested linux-oem-6.17 6.17.0-1010-oem (from
ppa:canonical-kernel-team/proposed2) as requested
for bug verification.

**System**
- Dell Pro 16 Plus (PB16250)
- BIOS version: 2.9.x
- Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS (noble)
- Kernel tested: 6.17.0-1010-oem

**Kernel / media results**
- /dev/media0 exists
- v4l2-ctl --list-devices shows:
  ipu7 (PCI:intel-ipu7) with many /dev/video* nodes

- Media topology (media-ctl -d /dev/media0 -p):
Only Intel IPU7 ISYS Capture nodes linked to Intel IPU7 CSI2
entities are present. No sensor sub-device entity is visible.

- v4l2-ctl -d /dev/video0 --all shows:
  Driver name: isys
  Card type: ipu7
Default format: 1920x1080, raw Bayer (BG12) — but unsupported by typical
  v4l2 userspace.

**Streaming test**
- Attempting capture with ffmpeg (v4l2) fails:

ffmpeg -f v4l2 -input_format yuyv422 -video_size 1280x720
-i /dev/video0 -frames:v 1 /tmp/frame.yuv

returns:

ioctl(VIDIOC_STREAMON): Link has been severed

**dmesg relevant excerpt**
- Hardware IPU7 and sensor printed:

intel-ipu7: Found supported sensor OVTI05C1:00
intel-ipu7: Connected 1 cameras

- But INT3472 GPIO/GPE mapping still fails:

int3472-discrete INT3472:00: cannot find GPIO chip INTC10B5:00, deferring
...
platform INT3472:00: deferred probe pending: int3472-discrete: Failed to get
GPIO

**libcamera**
- `cam --list` still shows no cameras.
- libcamera prints “No IPA found in /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcamera”.

This matches comment #6 — libcamera needs additional IPU6/IPU7 isys
platform config that is not yet available.

**Conclusion**
- The kernel/media pipeline on 6.17.0-1010-oem enumerates IPU7 nodes but the
camera pipeline is *not functional*.
- There is no active sensor node in the media topology; streaming fails due to
the severed link.
- Therefore the bug is **not fixed** with this kernel.

Please advise what additional configuration / userspace components are expected
for verification
(e.g., libcamhal-common, IPA metadata), and if the INT3472 GPIO issue is the
known remaining blocker.

**Verification tag**
I am marking this as verification-failed for linux-oem-6.17.
