This is due to the Debian packaging, and conflict with the executable
name `bat`. From the description, retrieved with apt show bat
In this package the executable and its manpage have been renamed from ‘bat’ to
‘batcat’ because of a file name clash with another Debian package.
the `bat` executable name is already taken by a `bacula` package I
believe. As is, this is not a bug in the software, and instead is a
known packaging workaround for a name collision in the distros
** Changed in: rust-bat (Ubuntu)
