Public bug reported:
I have a workstation with an Intel B50 Pro graphics card. It has
been running fine under 24.04.
I attempted an upgrade to 26.04, when it booted the normal console
messages displayed fine but as soon as it tried to transition into
graphics mode, the screen when black and sync to the monitor was lost.
The monitor is connected to the B50 via display port which is the
only interface that it has.
In an attempt to troubleshoot I removed Wayland in case it was
conflicting, no help. I also tried both the KSM and xorg-xserver-video-
intel X servers, same symptoms.
To eliminate the potential for self-inflicted wounds, I burned a
copy of Ubuntu Mate 26.04 daily build ISO to thumb drive and booted from
that, same thing.
This also eliminated the kernel as thumbnail used distribution
supplied kernel and my workstation had a current 6.19-rc7 + IO-SRV
modifications.
I apologize I can not provide logs because I had to restore from
backups when I could not establish a usable desktop.
