Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 25.10's GRUB menu wrongfully displays the Git version. This
scares less-technical people. It didn't on 24.04, where it simply said
"GNU GRUB version 2.12". I see "GNU GRUB version
2.14~git20250718.0e36779". Continued from
