[Impact]
Some Ubuntu Azure kernels are missing an important SMB bugfix related to
multichannel support, namely
79280191c2fd ("smb: client: fix cifs_pick_channel when channel needs
reconnect"). This can potentially cause issues for users on Azure.
[Fix]
Backport the fix commit to all kernels that contain c43a8ac396d ("cifs:
cifs_pick_channel should try selecting active channels"):
Questing: patch already pulled through stable updates
Noble: simple cherry-pick
[Test plan]
Build tested only; the Azure Files team will perform the validation on
their side.
[Where problems could occur]
This change is very small (a one-line change) and has little regression
potential, but could cause issues for users that rely on SMB
multichannel features.
