Public bug reported:

Package/version
Mint 22.2 (Ubuntu noble base)
alsa-ucm-conf 1.2.10-1ubuntu5.9

Expected:
/usr/share/alsa/ucm2/common/pcm/split.conf should have

DefineMacro.SplitPCMDevice {
    If.0 {
        Condition {
            Type String
            Empty "${var:-__Device}"
        }
        True.Define.__Device "0"
    }
...
}

Actual:
Empty "${var:__Device}"

When I update to anything based on 1.2.10, it changes my
/usr/share/alsa/ucm2/common/pcm/split.conf, which causes my audio to cut
out in some applications and prevents the channels on my audio interface
from appearing.

If I manually edit the file, my audio starts working again.

It looks like this has already been fixed in newer versions of alsa-ucm-
conf.

** Affects: alsa-ucm-conf (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
