Public bug reported: Basing the problem described in the summary on both the source [0], and this error message [1] found on `journalctl`, it seems that the packaging is missing the tools/ directory that is present at the revision control system linked below.
I verified this by downloading the packaging source with `pull-lp-source gnome-shell questing` (I'm on 25.10), and searching for the launcher file named in the error message below. The file is not found. Upon further analysis, it looks like the patch [2] under debian/ that injects the extension into the parent package neglects the tools/ directory altogether.
