This is an old report, but just for closure:
UFW (Uncomplicated Firewall) does not support direct ICMP rule management via 
its standard ufw allow or ufw deny commands. Instead, ICMP rules are configured 
through the /etc/ufw/before.rules file, which uses iptables syntax.
