I am upstream author.

I think I have updated all "..." to r"..." for REGEX string with 4.5.2
release.

Also many DEP-5 codes are removed in recent 5.?.? releases.
So there should not be issue any more in Debian testing/unstable.

For ubuntu, current packages seem to be:
The Resolute Raccoon (active development)
 5.1.4 release (universe) 2026-02-12

The Questing Quokka (current stable release)
 4.5.1-2 release (universe) 2025-05-03
