The Debian package can be manually synced; it's just the automatic sync process that won't do the initial sync of the package. Looking at the changelog, it looks like this isn't one of the KDE packages that the Kubuntu devs want to maintain themselves. Erich, do you want to handle the sync and then requesting the removal?
