Public bug reported:

Since updating my kernel three days ago to linux-generic 6.17.0-14.14, I
have been confronted twice my system locking up out of the blue. The
screen looks frozen input devices and I cannot log in from other
devices.

I have not been able to trace down the cause of the first occurrence but
the more recent one logged this (see the last line):

After three full passes of memtest86+, I have not found any indication
that the issue could be bad RAM. Neither does dmesg show any trace of
other hardware troubles. This does look like a kernel bug introduced by
the latest update.
