Same issue here. Have tried several workarounds with no concrete
solutions. I just want to remove the top bar form ubuntu. You know they
make a big hullabalu regarding the "You own your operating system"
"fully customizable" "You are in control" this is a bunch of BS as far
as I am concerned. You get almost 0 options to set this envioronment up
the way you want it. Ubuntu crams almost as much "s***" as microsoft
does into this system and then provides you less ways to personalize it
than MicroSlop does. Maybe I try new distro because this aint it. I have
locked myself out of UBUNTU 3 times since trying Linux over issues that
should not happen. You refuse to let me control the top bar of this OS
however i can press one button in the Disk Management app (THAT COMES
PRE INSTALLED!!!) and lock myself out of the entire OS after shutdown
with 0 I MEAN 0000000 Warning! What kind of sense does that even make.
Canonical has aboslutely 0 clue what is going on insdie of their own
distrobution of Linux and I am to the point insanity dealing with the
horrendous choices that they have made here that make almost in every
circumstance ZERO sense! done with rant.
