Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 25.10, the binaries
 - sha3sum
 - sha3-224sum
 - sha3-256sum
 - sha3-384sum
 - sha3-512sum
are all failing with the error message

  sha3sum: --bits required for SHA3

or

  sha3-###sum: --bits required for SHA3

respectively.

Passing the parameter --bits does also not work:

$ sha3sum --bits 256
sha3sum: --bits required for SHA3

$ sha3-256sum --bits 256
error: unexpected argument '--bits' found

  tip: to pass '--bits' as a value, use '-- --bits'

Usage: sha3-256sum-usage

For more information, try '--help'.
