Public bug reported: A new feature coming to kernel 7.0 is the ability to change the amount of UMA carveout on AMD systems that is programmed in the BIOS.
https://docs.kernel.org/next/gpu/amdgpu/driver-misc.html#uma-carveout This feature requires a privileged process to write the value. To wrap up the interface with policy kit it is being brought into fwupd. https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/pull/9925 I'm still working on the code review upstream, but I'm expecting we can merge this upstream and bring it to the stable branch that Ubuntu 26.04 tracks. ** Affects: fwupd (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2142298 Title: [FFe] Add ability to change UMA carveout BIOS setting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fwupd/+bug/2142298/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
