I have the same problem on (almost) the same hardware.

Don't know if it helps, but in my case I can go out of freeze by switching to 
TTY two times (CTRL+ALT+F2, CTRL+ALT+F7, CTRL+ALT+F2, CTRL+ALT+F7).
In my case it happens on Xorg. Is switching to Wayland necessary? I wanted to 
stay on Xorg because of compatibility.
