Public bug reported: I assume this bug is related to Wayland, and prior bugs that were not specific to Kiosk mode, such as this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/firefox/+bug/1987976
To replicate: 1. Open Terminal 2. run firefox --kiosk https://example.com or firefox --kiosk "https://example.com" 3. observer the black window (fullscreen on Ubuntu 24.04, or near-fullscreen on Ubuntu 25.10) Previous discussions I've found suggest to try: export: MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=0 prior to opening Firefox; however, testing that on 25.10, it won't open at all, instead giving: Error: cannot open display: :0 This has been happening for the past couple weeks or so. I'm not sure which version of Firefox introduced this bug, but the current version on both of my test machines is 147.0.4, via the official Snap. Perhaps relevant, perhaps not: This appears every time (with differing timestamps, of course) launching Firefox, whether normal or Kiosk: Gtk-Message: 09:42:09.643: Not loading module "atk-bridge": The functionality is provided by GTK natively. Please try to not load it. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2142397 Title: Firefox Kiosk Mode black screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/2142397/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
