Do you have some extra disk space? We need to verify following: 1) On your current installation (which is not an officially supported Ubuntu flavor btw) can you try running a newer mainline kernel build? (Remember, this is not recommended for day to day use).

I know these are not trivial but we need to have a clear untainted Ubuntu instance running on your hardware in order to weed out the other possibilities.
