Public bug reported:

I installed the latest Nvidia driver in Resolute:

  ubuntu-drivers list
  sudo ubuntu-drivers install nvidia-driver-590-open
  sudo reboot

but the system now boots to a frozen black screen.

An SSH login reveals the wrong kernel driver in use:

$ lspci -k -d::300
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GA107 [GeForce RTX 3050
6GB] (rev a1)
        Subsystem: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd Device 4131
        Kernel driver in use: NovaCore
        Kernel modules: nvidiafb, nouveau, nova_core, nvidia_drm, nvidia
