Public bug reported:
Mutter is unable to start with Wayland + Multi-vGPU (Nvidia) config, and falls
back to X server.
Issue is specific to Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS.
Logs indicate crash/segfault in libmutter:
gnome-shell[6439]: segfault at ffffffffffffffec ip 00007ca743b97e21 sp
00007ffc36153330 error 5 in libmutter-14.so.0.0.0[197e21,7ca743a50000+166000]
likely on CPU 3 (core 0, socket 3)
Isolation:
1. Not seen on a single vGPU VM
2. Issue not seen on Ubuntu 24.04.2 LTS, looks like a regression
3. We have isolated the issue to Mutter version -> 46.2-1ubuntu0.24.04.14
4. Issue is not seen on RHEL 10.1 -> Mutter version: 47.5 (fixed upstream with
newer mutter?)
