Description:
Microsoft Edge version: 145.0.3800.82
Linux distribution: Ubuntu 22.04
Problem: When a web page is installed as an Edge app (PWA), clicking its
taskbar icon always opens a new Edge window, instead of switching to the
already opened app window.
Behavior before update: The same PWA instance would be reused; taskbar
clicks would focus the existing window.
Behavior after update: Each click creates a new Edge window for the same
app.
Steps to reproduce:
Install any website as an Edge app (PWA).
Open the installed app.
Click the taskbar icon of the app multiple times.
Observe that each click opens a new Edge window.
Expected behavior: Clicking the taskbar icon should bring the already
opened PWA window to the front, not open a new one.
Notes: Likely related to changes in WM_CLASS or window registration in
recent Edge updates on Linux.
** Affects: ubuntu
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
