Public bug reported:
The system fails to boot to a graphical session and often hangs during
initialization on kernel 6.17.0-1012-oem. The same hardware works
perfectly on kernel 6.14.0-1020-oem.
Hardware Details:
HP EliteBook 6 G1ah (AMD Ryzen 5 7530U / Radeon 740M Graphics - Phoenix/RDNA3)
Error Log Observation:
Journal logs indicate a fatal failure in the Micro-Engine Scheduler (MES)
during the driver handshake:
1 amdgpu 0000:c4:00.0: amdgpu: MES FW version must be >= 0x7f to enable LR
compute workaround.

Workarounds Attempted:
Passing amdgpu.mes=0 as a kernel parameter does not bypass this fatal error.
The system eventually completes boot but with no functional display driver,
preventing GDM/Wayland from starting.
This is a critical regression in the OEM kernel track for RDNA3 hardware.
