I tried adding MUTTER_DEBUG_FORCE_KMS_MODE=simple in my 24.04 LTS install. In the 2 months since then, I think it has mitigated the problem, except when I have Rhythmbox running. If I have Rhythmbox playing for several hours with no screen interaction, i.e. only using keyboard multimedia keys to control it, I still encounter this problem. It's happened often enough that I've written a script to shutdown important apps and restart gnome that I can easily run from a ssh shell.
