Public bug reported:
Test Case
---------
1. Follow the instructions at
https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/introducing-architecture-variants-amd64v3-now-available-in-ubuntu-25-10/71312
2. Reboot
3.
sudo apt install steam-installer
Unsatisfied dependencies:
steam-installer : Depends: steam-libs (= 1:1.0.0.85~ds-2) but it is not going
to be installed
Depends: steam-libs-i386 (= 1:1.0.0.85~ds-2) but it is not
installable
Build info
----------
debian/control only lists amd64 and i386 in the Architecture fields.
I tried rebuilding steam-installer today but it still builds for
amd64v3. It should not build for amd64v3.
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/steam-
installer/1:1.0.0.85~ds-2build1
Other (unrelated) info
----------------------
I noticed this issue by finding it in the amd64v3 section of
https://ubuntu-archive-team.ubuntu.com/proposed-migration/resolute_uninst.txt
The list for amd64v3 includes many packages. Sometimes, fixing a single
broken package will clear up many lines from that file.
For instance, somehow the rust-yoke amd64v3 binary package disappeared!
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/resolute/amd64v3/librust-yoke-dev
./copy-package -b wouldn't bring it back so I did a rebuild. Once the rebuild
lands in resolute release, I think many of the rust-* lines will be cleared.
