I am also facing a similar issue. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-oem-6.17/+bug/2143073 . Everything was OK until an update two weeks ago. In my case, I disabled all extensions; even then, SHMEM utilization continued to increase during the lock screen.
