Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done Upgrade on Tegra Orin is not possible currently NVIDIA does not provide support for running a distribution other than Jammy on Tegra Orin yet. Upgrading to another version of Ubuntu with a different kernel may end up in a non-booting state or with limited hardware support, until NVIDIA offers support for these newer kernels on Orin-class hardware. Restoring original system state Aborting Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree... Done Reading state information... Done ** Description changed: [ Impact ] * The currently released jammy image can not be upgraded to noble until nvidia provides support. Doing so will end up with a broken system and thus should be prevented. * In order to prevent this, block the upgrade from jammy on the impacted systems in ubuntu update-manager [ Test Plan ] * install jammy on a Jetson Orin system * launch do-release-upgrade: it should not list noble as a proposed - upgrade + upgrade (see real output in the comment down below) [ Where problems could occur ] * The blocking could affect other systems if the blocking is poorly implemented. * The blocking need to be disabled in a future update once upgrading is allowed, it thus must not prevent update-manager from being upgraded. [ Other Info ] * The do-release-upgrade system downloads the latest upgrader from Noble, so implementing a blocking on Jammy requires doing the change in Noble. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2143334 Title: [SRU] Block do-release-upgrade from Tegra Orin To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-manager/+bug/2143334/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
