You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I use Scarlett Solo gen 3 sound card, it has 2 inputs - microphone and
instrument. Software sees it as single stereo output, which creates tons
of problems in voice chat programs. Because second channel has no input
(no instrument), all voice chat software converts stereo to mono, and it
causes 50% volume decrease.

When i was using Arch Linux, it allowed me to select mono microphone
input, which solved all the problems. After switching to Linux Mint i
lost that feature. Recently i discovered a solution, and it requires
very simple patch to alsa-ucm.

I also explained this issue there too with screenshots and everything.
