Public bug reported:
In a fresh new installation of Ubuntu 24.04, on a laptop where I
previously used 22.04 without this issue, gvim opens well but after a
while gets a few strange visual artifacts (vertical bars). Screenshot in
annex helps you understand what I mean.

wayland
(I don't know if I was using wayland in 22.04)
This might be an issue with wayland: apparently vim-gtk only has good
wayland support in versions >= 9.1.1495.
