Included is a debdiff for Resolute. The problematic Czech translation has been fixed in later Bazaar versions so this fix is only for Resolute.
** Description changed: + [ Impact ] + + The Bazaar package version 0.7.8-1 that is present in Ubuntu 26.04 has a + very poor Czech translation. It contains an extreme amount of typos and + incorrectly translated strings. + + There is a large Czech community that uses both Ubuntu and Flatpaks. + This translation makes the whole Bazaar experience very bad for Czech + users, especially newcomers. + + We fixed the Czech translation in upstream version 0.7.9, however this + version did not make it to Ubuntu 26.04 in time. + + [ Test Plan ] + + On an installation of resolute with "Czech" (cs_CZ.UTF-8) locale: + + * sudo apt install bazaar + * bazaar + * Observe the GUI and its translation + * Enable proposed (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed) + * sudo apt install -t resolute-proposed bazaar + * pkill bazaar + * bazaar + * Observe the GUI and its translation + + The fix has already been tested manually by me, but as soon as a version + with the patch present is available, a user should install the updated + bazaar package and the program should be correctly translated. + + [ Regression Potential ] + + Very low. The only file modified by this patch is the Czech translation + file (cs.po). There are no other changes and I did not find any issue + during my extensive testing. + + The fix is our own upstream translation update[1] that has been very + slightly modified to match the 0.7.8 version strings (i.e. there are no + fuzzy and/or superfluous strings) + fix one typo. The translation update + is already present in Bazaar 0.7.9 and newer. + + [1] https://github.com/kolunmi/bazaar/pull/1146 + + [ Where problems could occur ] + + The only changes are in the Czech translation file (cs.po) that + previously contained an extreme amount of typos and incorrectly + translated strings. The file has been validated and there are no errors + that could trigger potential (gettext) problems. + + [ Other Info ] + + The Czech translation has been fixed as a part of the new Bazaar version + 0.7.9 (and newer) that is currently waiting to be packaged in Debian. + From what I know, its maintainer unfortunately has some (more important) + real life issues and is not able to work on this at the moment. It will + hopefully happen next month, but probably not before the Ubuntu 26.04 + release - so syncing the new version from Debian (instead of this SRU) + most likely won't be possible. + + [ Original Bug Description ] + The Bazaar package version 0.7.8-1 that is present in Ubuntu 26.04 has a very poor Czech translation.
