Public bug reported:

Openvpn client works perfectly in 24.04.
After loading 26.04 Beta, I imported the same vpn client config and the vpn no
longer connects.
Investigating I tried using the command line and the vpn fails with what looks
like permission issue since I was using my normal login.
I used sudo openvpn --config myfilename and my laptop CRASHED big time with no
mouse activity, screen had strange bands of color on it. Unresponsive.
Powered off and on and it will do the same thing.
