Correction and additional info:
I have checked the GNOME Power settings. Both "Automatic Screen Blank" and
"Automatic Suspend" are explicitly set to OFF.
Despite these settings, the system still attempts to enter a sleep state
or perform a power transition after some time of inactivity, which leads
to the immediate hard freeze. This suggests that:
The power management settings are being ignored, or
The freeze happens during a lower-level transition (e.g.,
DPMS/Monitor power save) that triggers the kernel lockdown issue.
I am attaching a screenshot of my power settings for reference.
