Public bug reported:
On Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, after installing desktop-security-center using:
$ sudo apt update && sudo snap install desktop-security-center
The toggle for "Require apps to ask for system permissions" refused to
turn on. Installing prompting-client makes it work, but there is no
feedback that the lack of the prompting-client prevents this toggle of
being turned on.
After raising this on ~desktop in MM at 2026-03-17T05:50:00Z, @didrocks
recommended I raise this bug for snapd to return an error to desktop-
security-center so that a better UX can be implemented for the end user.
