Public bug reported:
After upgrading to libexiv2 0.28.5+dfsg-1ubuntu0.1, image viewers such
as Gwenview, gThumb, and Shotwell crash when opening images.
The crash happens consistently with all tested images (JPEG and PNG),
including files that were previously working correctly.
Gwenview crashes both when opening a single image and when browsing a
folder.
The issue does NOT occur with LXImage-Qt, suggesting the problem is
related to metadata handling rather than image decoding.
Downgrading libexiv2 to 0.28.5+dfsg-1 completely resolves the issue.
This appears to be a regression introduced in the Ubuntu patched version
(-0.1).
