I am seeing a likely related issue on Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy) with the
security-updated package `libexiv2 0.27.5-3ubuntu1.1`.
Environment:
- Ubuntu 22.04
- GIMP 2.10.30-1ubuntu0.1
- libexiv2 0.27.5-3ubuntu1.1
- libgexiv2 0.14.0-1build1
In my environment, opening PNG files in GIMP reproducibly crashes the
`file-png` plug-in.
The stack trace reaches `Exiv2::PreviewManager::getPreviewProperties()`.
This suggests that Jammy may also be affected by the same March 2026
Exiv2 security update regression family.
