After upgrading libfreerdp3-3 and libfreerdp-server3-3 from 0ubuntu1.2 to
0ubuntu1.4 on 2026-03-19, gnome-remote-desktop crashes immediately when an
RDP client connects.
Error in journal:
[ERROR][com.winpr.synch.event] - [SetEvent]: SetEvent: hEvent is not an event
corrupted size vs. prev_size
gnome-remote-desktop.service: Main process exited, code=dumped, status=6/ABRT
Crash occurs during RDPGFX capability negotiation
(RDPGFX_CAPVERSION_106).
Downgrading to 0ubuntu1.2 resolves the issue.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Upgrade libfreerdp3-3 to 3.5.1+dfsg1-0ubuntu1.4
2. Connect with Windows mstsc RDP client
3. gnome-remote-desktop crashes immediately
Workaround: downgrade to 3.5.1+dfsg1-0ubuntu1.2
