Title: gnome-remote-desktop: BIO_new failed for certificate - RDP
certificates not generated in Ubuntu 26.04
Description:
Summary: On Ubuntu 26.04 (dev branch), gnome-remote-desktop fails to
initialize RDP connections due to a failure in certificate
generation/parsing. The RDP client returns error 0x207.
Steps to reproduce:
Enable Remote Desktop in GNOME Settings.
Attempt to connect from a remote client (Error 0x207 occurs).
Check logs via journalctl --user -u gnome-remote-desktop.
Try to set credentials via grdctl rdp set-credentials <user> <pass>.
Observed behavior:
Logs show: [ERROR][com.freerdp.crypto] - [x509_utils_from_pem]:
BIO_new failed for certificate and RDP server certificate is invalid.
The directory ~/.local/share/gnome-remote-desktop/ was NOT created
automatically.
After manually creating the directory and setting chmod 700, the
files rdp-tls.crt and rdp-tls.key are still NOT generated.
grdctl fails with the same crypto error.
Expected behavior:
The service should automatically create the required directory and generate
valid self-signed TLS certificates for the RDP session.
