Public bug reported: Problem description: I reported this issue upstream some time ago, but since we are now about one month away from the Ubuntu 26.04 release, I believe it is appropriate to open a report here as well to see if a solution can be found on the Ubuntu side.
The issue is that the Resources application does not detect certain software packaged as Snap, including two essential applications in the Ubuntu ecosystem: Thunderbird and Chromium. As a result, these applications do not appear in the list of installed software and cannot be managed from Resources. While they do show up under processes, I believe the fact that they aren't categorized as applications could lead to confusion. Given that these are official and widely used Snap packages, it would be important to review this behaviour before the upcoming Ubuntu release. As a curiosity, Mission Center does detect everything without any issues. https://github.com/nokyan/resources/issues/599 Ubuntu version: Ubuntu Resolute Raccoon (development branch) Package version: Resources 1.10.1-0ubuntu2 Expected behaviour: I expected Resources to detect and list all installed Snap applications, including Thunderbird and Chromium. Actual behaviour: Resources does not detect certain Snap applications, so they do not appear in the installed software list and cannot be managed from the application. Steps to reproduce: 1.- Open Resources 2.- Go to the Installed Applications section 3.- Observe that Thunderbird and Chromium (installed as Snaps) do not appear ** Affects: resources (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: - Problem description: + Problem description: I reported this issue upstream some time ago, but since we are now about one month away from the Ubuntu 26.04 release, I believe it is appropriate to open a report here as well to see if a solution can be found on the Ubuntu side.
