In my experience, it is necessary to find and edit .desktop files from time to
time. I imagine this is true for most Ubuntu users. Because there are a few
locations where these files are stored, and their filenames might not be known,
it is time-consuming to find them. I think it would be a welcome enhancement if
launch icons had a right-click option to go to the location of the desktop
file. This option would open the default file manager and show the contents of
the relevant folder with the relevant .desktop file selected. I anticipate this
option would be available wherever launch icons are shown - on the Dash, in the
Activities window, etc.
I imagine this enhancement has been suggested elsewhere but I didn't
find anything when I searched.
