Reviewed this as part of my patch pilot shift. Ordinarily, the fact it
isn't building would warrant leaving a review and moving on, but given
that this is standing in the way of removing an unmaintained security-
sensitive library I thought I'd give it a longer look.

The build failure in the linked branch is fairly simple: boost_system
was an empty library in the prior version and is removed in boost1.90.
Simply removing the dependency permits the build to succeed (locally at
least). Hence, I'm sponsoring this with the additional change to remove
the boost_system dependency.

Note to anyone looking at this in future and confused about the package
structure:

Yes, it's a v1 package (not v3 quilt). The reason d/patches is still
applied is because d/rules calls dh --with quilt. However, the v1 diff
*also* alters upstream stuff so this is some sort of horrific mash-up of
ancient v1 and modern v3 quilt. Also the version number doesn't look
native (which it should for a v1 package). Urgh.
