Based upon comment 8 it would appear that the test case could be re- jigged so it doesn't require a Windows installation? If so, that would significantly ease verification of the fix once in proposed.
The fix itself (in the associated gnome-settings-daemon debdiff) looks plausible and minimal, is well-formatted with DEP-3 headers, and has a correct version for SRU to questing. One minor change required: lintian complains d/changelog has incorrect day for the timestamp specified (Saturday, not Friday).
