Hmm, okay, since it looks like upstream is unable to reproduce the behavior based on the limited amount we know so far, it would be helpful for you to do some additional forensics for us, if you don't mind.
The first thing needed is a backtrace of Xorg. General directions for doing this is at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingXorg. Essentially, what you need to do is ssh into the system from another computer after a crash, attach gdb to it, and get a 'backtrace full'. If that doesn't work, you can ssh in, start up X from within gdb, and run it until it locks up, and then do a backtrace full.
