** Summary changed:

- [Resolute] Conflict between Ubuntu Dock and Blur my Shell: focused app not
highlighted
+ Delete

** Description changed:

- Summary
-
- When enabling the “Overview blur” option in the Blur my Shell
- extension—specifically the “Overview components” setting—Ubuntu Dock
- stops highlighting the currently focused application. This issue does
- not occur when using Dash to Dock under the same conditions.
-
- ---
-
- Affects
-
- Ubuntu 26.04 (GNOME 50 version included in the release)
- Ubuntu Dock (default dock)
- Blur my Shell extension (latest version available)
-
- ---
-
- Steps to reproduce
-
- Install and enable the Blur my Shell extension.
- Open the extension settings.
- Enable Overview blur → Overview components.
- Open several applications.
- Switch between them.
-
- ---
-
- Expected behavior
-
- Ubuntu Dock should highlight the application that is currently in the
foreground, as it normally does.
- Actual behavior
-
- When the “Overview components” blur is enabled, Ubuntu Dock stops marking the
focused application.
- The indicator does not update or disappears entirely.
- Additional information
-
- This issue does not occur with Dash to Dock, which continues to
- highlight the active application correctly even with Blur my Shell’s
- overview blur enabled.
-
- This suggests a possible incompatibility specific to Ubuntu Dock or a
- regression introduced in a recent update.
-
- ---
-
- I am attaching two screenshots
-
- One showing the issue with Ubuntu Dock
- https://i.ibb.co/4nZ2Bdxn/Captura-desde-2026-04-06-16-29-20.png
-
- One showing correct behavior with Dash to Dock
- https://i.ibb.co/6RNwT6zJ/Captura-desde-2026-04-06-16-30-21.png
-
- ---
-
- I am aware that this might be outside of Ubuntu's default usage, but
- since it occurs with Ubuntu Dock and not with Dash to Dock, it might
- have a straightforward fix. In any case, I will also try to report this
- to the developer of Blur my Shell. Thank you very much, and please
- excuse any mistakes; I am still learning how to properly report bugs.
